Frequently Asked Questions

Blitzometer and Blitzitude

What is a "Blitz"?
A scheduled fitness program no longer than two weeks. A Blitz has fitness activities scheduled on specific days. These can be anything from a brisk walk to high-intensity intervals and everything in between. You can join someone else's Blitz or make your own that other members can join.

What does a "blitzometer" measure?
Blitzitude.

[top]

What's "blitzitude"?
"Blitzitude" is a measure of commitment to your Blitzes. That is, it's a measure of how many of the Blitzes you joined that you actually completed.

[top]

Why are there two numbers in the blitzitude?
The first number is your level of commitment; the second number is how many Blitzes you have completed. So in a blitzitude of 80/10 (read as "80 over 10"), approximately 80 percent of the Blitz activities were completed (you get partial credit for recording that you didn't complete an activity, but no credit for not recording it at all) and there have been 10 Blitzes completed. It's similar to a test result, where the first number is your score and the second number is the number of questions on the test. It takes more breadth to score 80 out of 100 than 8 out of 10, just as it's more impressive to complete 80 percent of the activities in 100 Blitzes than 80 percent of 1. (But we all start somewhere!) Now that's perfectly clear, right?

Coaching

How can I become a Coach and create my own Blitzes?
You must first complete at least 1 Blitz and have a blitzitude of 85 or higher.

[top]

Why would I want to be a Coach and create my own Blitzes?
If you are not finding Blitzes that you like, you can create your own, including custom activities. Since any Blitzers who join your Blitz can see your progress, you will get motivation from them to complete it just as much as you motivate them. You also need to be a Coach to upgrade to a premium Trainer or Organization account.

Blitzing

When can I join a Blitz?
From the time it is published until the end of the day it starts. You cannot join a Blitz that is beyond its first day or completed.

[top]

Can I quit a Blitz?
Yes, but only before it starts.

[top]

How long do I have to enter my Blitz progress?
You can enter progress up to 8 days after the Blitz ends.

[top]

What should I do if I can't complete a Blitz or am unable to do some of the activities?
Enter 0s for your progress and include a comment explaining what went wrong. You'll get half credit towards your Blitzitude for entering 0s rather than nothing at all.

[top]

Who can see my progress values?
Only the Coach can see your values for the Blitz you are in. (All the Blitzers can see their Coach's values.)

[top]

Why do some exercises show "BEST" for the target weight (or other field)?
It means do the best you can. For example, "10 reps with BEST lbs" means do 10 reps with the most weight you can manage for 10 reps.

[top]

When doing exercises with two dumbbells, should I enter the weight of one or both?
Enter the weight of only one dumbbell.

General

Why isn't [your problem here] working right?
We are still an alpha site, meaning it's still under constant testing (including by people like you) and development. Please be patient with any hiccups...we're working on it!

[top]

Will the site be free after beta testing?
Yes. We'll be adding some relevant advertising and premium features, but the basic service will remain free for the foreseeable future. (We'd say forever but we may not live that long.)
